what gate opens at life’s beck and call
or how beats the drum of pending pall
where shines the glisten of lore’s gleam
or when does heavy weigh, with harshness stream

and the stars fall from out their place
as sadness secrets through time and space
and the moon shines pale and dims her light
as sorrow drifts through the tepid night

o say not words of dark repose
and rest not in laughter-less prose
so lift the heart and dwell in bright
and lift the eye to see such sight

for in the darkest, deepest depths
resides the shine in fairest fullness

A gentle reminder that the best way to see majestic heights, is with the eyes and heart lifted up.

Beautiful. I say that this was pre-Sonnet.
and it has wonderful sound. I wish I know a lot of poetic terms.

pending pall

glisten.....gleam

heavy weigh....harshness stream

sadness secrets...... space

see such sight

darkest, deepest depths

fairest fullness

beautiful sound.
enjoyed very much the read.

beautfully crafted verse as always.  I wish I knew the correct terms as well, so I'll settle for perfectly lovely.
