Walking the Plank There in the light of a warm Springtime day, they teased and taunted in their patched-eye kind of way. With swords pointed toward and their swaggering strong, amongst all the following for the mapped treasures' long. Aged and youthful, they all sauntered near. "Ahoy there my maties," came a voice loud and clear. "The treasure's awaiting, the maps marked, Xed red! Search behind, under, and above all," he said, "Behold there's a mystery to opening the box, you must first find the keys that will open the locks. They are hidden somewhere in the waters below. But beware there are dangers, some say, you should know. To protect what's inside, there's a Dragon of tale who will rise to the top and then roar and set sail to the islands of home where he longs to return 'cross the oceans of "once upon", this dragon does yearn." As they made their way following the rules set before, these sea rovers searched, but came up with no more. So the Dragon is still in that treasure boxed tale, awaiting to rise and begin to set sail. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." (Will Moss) |

I think we have to fight many dragons throughout our lives ... the "once upon" seems to whisper behind our necks, yet we have the power to bloom in the now. I enjoyed your beautifully rendered ponderings, dear Maureen. Love, Margherita |

M - I love "stories" as you may have gathered and this is a wonderful one! Dragons come in so many disguises, don't they? Helen |

Seoulair, sharyn, RDB, and Margherita, Thank you for your kind responses. Helen, remember Biki from Bianca's? He was telling me of a Dragon that supposedly he believes lives off the coast of Australia. I had been to a Pirate's Festival yesterday and his story seemed to fit perfectly into my day's poem. And yes the interpretation has many sides to it. Thanks everyone, Maureen |
