there was an island of padres like the brown fur of hounds they were matted in the sun waters forgiving the sins of the sky we were the heathen boats rubbing our ends together there at their wooden windows our anchors were discarded we drifted where we dreamed and wore our splinter sides smooth they moaned songs of our urges and the storms we rode oarless they made crosses from violets and draped our bows when we slept they blessed us and cursed us then were quiet in their piety but we tempted them with our dawns ______________ daark |

quote: Oh, how deeply these words speak to me right now, dear D.! oarless ... yet somehow divinely guided we always arrive where we are meant to arrive. You are the Poet! Love, Margherita |
