Secondhanddreampoet, A heart, any heart, simply does what it's told. What could be purer than that. This works well. Bobby |

A most interesting question. I think it would be a child's heart. Ida |

Hate to disappoint anyone, but personally, I think it would be the cloud. Good question, Bruce. - Owl |

Personally I vote for the heart but one has to understand that the heart is most times not given a chance to function at full capacity and is, therefore, not given credit. The cloud can be beautiful or not depending on the day but it fulfills its function in an understandable way and how like humans to appreciate only that which they can understand. To unveil the heart is to know of timeless beauty and stability but the unveiling process is not a chore most find desirable in this day and age. There will, however, come a time of understanding and appreciation. I have no doubt of that. Helen |

The Temple is most holy and pure, sacred place, our hearts can fool us, sometimes it is wicked with wicked thoughts, the clouds are contaminated with our trash from the enviorment! |

I do Agree with ARH! Our hearts should be the most pure, but sometimes it brings not the best thoughts. I still agree that the heart is most pure because it shows what you're true feelings are! ARCTIC WIND |

The cloud, unencumbered with the cares and strictures of this world, could be an answer that satisfies some, but the poem has meaning that transcends the question, and that is where my heart lies. Ida is on to something, I believe, when she mentions the heart of the innocents---children . . . Art [This message has been edited by gilead (07-02-2008 07:54 PM).] |

We poets have to grapple with ideas that are subjective and/or objective, and sometimes one or the other are in conflict with what we attempt to put in words. So I find myself asking---what is "pure"? Art |

A grand thank you to all the fine "P.I.P.-land" poets who commented on this 'write'...and enriched it with their musings upon relative 'purity' and such! --- bruce |

To test the purity of the human heart, the Egyptian Book of the Dead tells us that Osiris and 42 judges watched as a feather given by the goddess Maat (goddess of truth and justice) was weighed by Anubis against the human heart. If the heart and the feather balanced, the deceased was granted eternal life. I vote again for the heart! |
