No One Understands What am I doing (I wonder) as the voice on the other end says I should let him fail, fall and leave him to work it out on his own. I ponder the reality of the situation knowing if I let him fail, I fail too and so the co-dependency continues, mostly on these shoulders right now. It's not as others think. He's not a mean, hateful person as some would like to believe. I allowed my life to be turned upside down and inside out over these last years. They always say it takes two to make a marriage and two to destroy one, but sometimes it's more than just that. Sometimes reasons are hidden, masks are worn and one never knows when they will rise to destroy. I can only control my own actions... feelings are another story. Maureen...Very telling write. Your feelings of what if ring loud and clear. Even the most empathetic person cannot know the totality of your situation. Not even those closest to you will ever fathom the depths of your co-dependent relationship. But for what it is worth, there are some who can relate to the intense feelings you are experiencing, and in our own way, understand. It's never easy to let go, especially when the other person falling apart is basically kind. (Paul's words were perfect.) ~Wishing you clear vision to take the next steps, hoping they bring you moments of peace and equilibrium. |
