Starless Sky “I miss the stars” was all she said, but I could only sigh. How long ago I held her somewhere closer to the sky. An angel’s dream I’ve grieved, I’ve bled; I’ve done the best I can. But wonder is heaven’s hope fair to place upon a man? How long ago, with nothing left, was there no sacrifice? When turning our backs on the world didn’t seem such a price. Why are we now somehow bereft of what we once called sin? I still want to give her the world— just not the one we’re in. And closer to our earthy goals, at least in my opinion, We lose sight of what’s true and right beneath man’s dark dominion. But fall in line, selling our souls to meet the cost of living, Though if the stars shine bright tonight, it’s much to my misgiving. “I miss the stars” was all she said, and though impelled to try, Feel accusation pinned on me… she knows that I can’t fly. Still focused on a dream well fed, miss the hourglass turning, Though taint on the sky reminds me the true price of our learning. I might be judged a better man along this path I tread, But sometimes feel it more akin to dancing for the dead… And if we never cross this span to skies of proper hue, I hope she sees my deep chagrin, for how I miss them too. You always find your rhythms in the heartbeat of your love, Michael. This is so touching, and just poignantly honest and you are so determined to give her all that she wants. I truly believe you would time your very breath to match her breath, exhaling as she inhales, your heartbeats, also perfectly synchronized as well. Just--awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww *sniff* You two! and yeah, I'm misty eyed. What a love story! Ya'll are just beautiful. |

I can still see the stars when clear of mind and hold onto hope. M |
