Preface to a Kiss Your style brushes my attention with fingertips Not so subtle innuendo to my ears from your lips Now my attention is riveted, but I still play shy Not admitting that you have totally caught my eye A blush, a whisper, body brushing against your side My desire for you is becoming difficult to disguise And, your eyes flash with humor because you know I may try to run, but there is really no place to go Backed into a corner is where I now am with you Do I admit what you already know to be true? Do my eyes say what my voice tries to deny? I can’t keep it to myself no matter how I try I have fallen for you, fallen so hard and fast You don’t need to promise that this love will last It’s your laugh, your voice, the words you say It’s how you make me feel when your fingers play Sometimes I believe that love is one more cliché’ An over-used word that the lonely long to say But, when your voice touches me, the softest caress It strokes my skin and becomes a sensuous kiss Your words flit on my skin like a sensuous kiss Drifting to fall like a sensuous kiss --- Alison |
