In my Father’s Image I fear the darkness of the evening’s smile Because I know it will be the final kiss When ancient debts and promises are bled Into the eyes and mouths of wingless Angels Then projected into the dreams of those real Angels As silver crucifixes crying auburn tears Originally regurgitated from the worm’s belly Born within the core of the first apple A gift from the procreator To whom I owe This sinful, Most times loving, Unspectacular, And still unpolished, Faithful soul. Night is when thoughts are freed to dalliance. Sometimes lingering too intently...where we come from reflects that which we were born to...not who we are...and not who we were born to be. Nice to read you again Keith. |
