Backless Half the time, I find myself delighted Amused by my own intensity…authority A shy child’s answer to the rougher world Jeans and sweatshirts require only fresh air Turning a wrench, or climbing a ladder but Never leaving the house without nail polish My closet smells of cherry blossoms Mixing short skirts, stilletto heals, and suede work boots My favorite dress cost less than good bacon, and I sizzle I care that I feel good, and that is reflected in my eyes I'm never too pretty to dig in the dirt, or stack wood If I joined you camping, I want soft skin and clean sheets As much for me as for you…that’s what I’m partial to The perfume of hard work is far more attractive than signature cologne But the ambiance of my bedroom is romance, candle light and linen Massage is an art, and baths should take their time I color the gray and always hang the wash outside in summer rain The dishes can stack on the sink side, if that means more I will wash…air dry…and keep the house healthy all in percentage of yes But don’t expect perfection, time is precious and I’d rather spend it cooking Or fishing…or standing in a crowded room, backless… Knowing you can’t look away Copyright Kkh 1/30/08 |
