Michael (Balladeer) posted this poem of Seymour's in Announcements. It was sent to some of us from the Tabin home informing us of Seymour's passing. I wanted to post it here in loving memory of a wonderful man, and poet who will be remembered.
May he rest in peace.

Remember Me

My children will remember me
My grandchildren but distantly
After that it’s only chance
If time allows a backward glance

That is why I paint and write
To light in time a future light
To say to them I did exist
And come to them from out the mist

Light a light of distant tallow
A beacon to a distant marrow
A mind that searched as hard as theirs
To find an upward path of stairs

To help them plow the soil of thought
To drop their anchor in a port
To fly into a sky of blue
And bring about their egos coup

And even that will soon erase
As even as a pretty face

Having met Sy, I am so sad to read this and offer my condolences to his family. His words and kindness have been missed.

I just stopped by to read some poetry, and am shocked..simply shocked...what the heck happened...???
I know a lot of you knew Sy personally and feel so bad for all of you...
Would like to extend my condolances to all of you, to his family and friends....he will be soarly missed.

Hi, Sharon. I am pleased that you posted Seymour's poem here as well. I copied my response to Balladeer's post, below.

I am saddened beyond words on learning that my beloved Mr. T. has passed on. His is a bright and radiant Light and it will continue to glow in the heavens. I admired everything about him. He was also a mentor and a friend. I have been missing his daily poetic offerings of wit, charm, and wisdom.

A few years back, I kept urging him to compile some of his sonnets(well over 2,000 even at that time) into a book. When he finally agreed to do it, he sent me an illustrated copy of it. He only had a few printed up for some friends and family, but I had convinced him that he would be leaving a treasured legacy for his family. I am so pleased that he has bound compilations of his venerable words that his family can read, enjoy, and remember him by.

Seymour, I love you. My heart aches with your leaving us. However, I know that you are in a peaceful place and still watching over your beloved family.

Use your poetic wings and fly High!

He will be remembered. Each time I talked about PIP with friends, I have mentioned his name...The love for life, the high spirit of living and a caring heart for everyone, in good poems.

I can't think of anything more appropriate than that this new forum be opened with remembering one of the finest poets and friends that PIP will ever see.

I am so saddened at the news
of the passing of our beloved Sy.
He was the sweetest man and his
poetry was always a treat to read.

I can't imagine PiP without him.
It will never, ever be the same
around here.
Who am I going to have tea with
in the morning?

I will miss you Sy and I send my
condolences to your lovely wife,
Isabel and the rest of your family.
May God bring peace to your hearts
and may you turn to your memories

Thank you for posting this. I did not know of his passing until now. I did not know him well but his poetry always touched me. I echo all the above. He will truly be missed.

If Isabel or Sy's family reads this site, I hope she/they will receive my very deepest condolences. Sy touched me very deeply with his beautiful words. What a gentle giant of a man! May he bathe eternally in the light of love in his paradise.

In as much as Sy could not post it himself and he is our senior member all of us appreciate this immensely. One last Syism. A great bon voyage it makes. We miss you Sy, we truly do.

a beautiful 'last work' of his.  He penned that in such a thoughtful way, too.

I haven't written in some time, I rarely visit anymore. But felt a need to come today. And now I know the reason. I have enjoyed Seymours poems with the rest of you and have fond memories of his posts. My heart goes out to all of my PIP family. May you hold close your memories of a wonderful man.
