We try
we fight
to get right
the things that we got wrong.
Skimming over
shutting the lid
on events that threaten.

Closing off from the words that hurt
ignoring the inevitable.
We're cracked
we're scarred
disfunctional
never to be repaired.

We know it's wrong yet we cannot live without each other
can't breathe without the other present
it's almost as if we have become
a beautiful disaster.
