success or failure

Is it success that causes us to stress?
Or is it the failure of seeing our success?
How do we measure either one?
Can it really be done?

Climb the ladder, rung by rung.
Enjoy each step, we're not forever young.
And if you fail, don't stop.
Eventually you will prevail,
and on the end you'll reach the top.

Aches and pains come with the fame,
it often can be a deep felt shame.
Nothing is as hard to accept,
than failure that in our life has crept.

To enjoy our succession,
we need to take in procession,
the acceptance that we can fail,
before we can continue with a successful tale.

Success is not measured with money,
it's not measured with the flow of honey.
Success is to each as they perceive,
happy home, big family, love galore, or just a religous belief.

Failure is not measured with debt,
nor with anything we could'nt kept.
Failure is to each as they may think,
loss of home, loss of family, loss of love, or the end of brink.

Success or failure, either one can bring stress,
each can be good or bad, it's anybody's guess.
Take the bad with the good,
this will get you in the rightful neighborhood.
