I long ago came to the conclusion,
that my life might be alone.

That my days and nights,
would be spent with me just in my home.

Yet a part of me still yearned,
and wanted so much more.

I wanted someone to share it with,
someone that I would adore.

Then words of wisdom,
came softly from my friend.

"Stop searching for the perfect person,
that will never come in the end".

"Instead let life happen and just love yourself,
enjoy each day you have here".

"And one day when you least expect it,
real love will appear".

"It will be the one who knows you,
from the inside to the out".

"And will really and truly,
understand what you are about".

"They will love you for all the good things,
and accept the ones not so great".

"They will see what is in your heart,
and it will be your life's fate".

"Then will you learn to love,
and build something so strong".

"When that someone comes,
you won't go wrong".

"You will smile with a glow,
and your eyes will shine bright".

"And they will be beside you,
at the end of every night".

"You will have your good days and your bad,
and grow together as one".

"And you will have true love,
when all is said and done".

I took her loving advice,
and went on my merry way.

Then I met my fate,
at the beach one day.

Her words were filled with wisdom,
and truth I can't deny.

For I met my love that day,
and now I just simply fly.

I will always thank her,
for the kind loving words she shared.

Because she is my best friend,
and someone who truly cares.

Thank you! This is dedicated to my best friend of 15 years, Sandy. She has been at my side through the good and the bad and I could never thank her enough.
