Arched along the spine She came with the sigh of Dreams within dreams finding axis And turn upon the spinning hands Of faceless clock whose eyes are hidden Behind the hours away from workdays When holidays become the blessed vintage Pangs that cry of no remorse But measure still a rend of soul Along the perforations left Of pen points on paper
Such vellum of skin As I would trace upon with bare finger Simple words in block letters Letting go the tomes of history within Each vowel as might still escape Chafed lips In long slow O’s
She closed her eyes And felt the cold grow
Trying to lose herself within A whisper she might hear Along heartstrings Or the tethered strand of soul That choked back the tears Lost through the years But still warm In a trickle of madness
Some where in Oz The tin man trembled to the sounds That came hollow within his chest As he wondered how it was to feel Dorothy beside him
And the Lion stood a shiver Listening to coyotes bay their mournful song To another paper moon Blackened by flying monkeys As he lit a fire using veins from Scarecrows right arm To kindle a blaze
“there’s no place like home… “ she said
and came again a flame of cedar
While I too closed my eyes And dreamed her home
In me

babygirl, you couldn't have given a better portrait of what the Captain had written...
awesome, the both of you.
But this, sir...
quote: Such vellum of skin As I would trace upon with bare finger Simple words in block letters Letting go the tomes of history within Each vowel as might still escape Chafed lips In long slow O’s

I love the way you portray Tinman... whether he has a heart or not, he always touches mine!! Beautiful work!

I like this very much. I liked the Wizard because he made mistakes. I'd like to see a tornado. In Oz Dorothy was the tornado, the traveller back in time who changed it forever. What did Oz become after she left. D
