Every Syllable Hard and fast The weakened knees of once perhaps Twisted round my tongue Back and forth Decision pumps its legs Each round, lay down upon the wind Like winter in its sigh of ice Boiling in August steam Harsh upon the linen that I dream Back and forth Catapulting into unknown sound Losing altitude for where I’m bound Dinnertime abandons me Creek of links freeze doggedly Time must come at sundown Slow, to stop These shades of sullen silhouette For, square boxes won’t relent That gangling shoelace view A strategy to see without looking through But what’s a little dirt between friends Toted bandages for the see saw Sure a kiss in every syllable Lest I bleed into the sand ...Of what migrates beneath Copyright Kkh 8/16/07 |

I love the structure of this: meter and rhyme. A bit confusing for my feeble mind; but it sounds like someone was spending too much time at the playground... JL |
