In Silent Swing

Yesterday's thoughts
rode through the coarseness of my mind,
wondering if actions spoke louder than words
or if the swing of a club showed progress
as it meted out its flight.

I let the breeze
caress the warmth of the day,
time of no importance,
as you reached behind me, leaving me
with a touch that would influence my every thought.

I watched for hours,
for each stroke to raise a smile.
Mine to yours, yours to mine
sharing the moments of a beautiful day,
knowing I should have been silent.

But words always escape me,
balancing my existence,
allowing my sense of spirit to engage
in the challenge that you present to me,
always in the aftermath of each swing.

For that... I apologize

Sometimes there is a need for words at other times not. Lovely ripple in time here

Ruth, I pretty much followed along for the enjoyment and company (drove the golf cart). I am not good at golfing. Actually I have only played miniature golf and was so bad at it that even a 2 year old could do better.

I know it's supposed to be a quiet game but it has always been hard for me to remain totally quiet. Thank you.
