Epiphonems and Epitaphs As a most mercurial moon dances through the lambent sky of lucent stars and limpid dreams, my spirit soars… for one magnificent moment through time’s soft shadows, tasting the moonlit winds along the pathways of eternity, (over a sprawling sea of infinite motion) in a grand and final epiphany, like an ecstatic eagle… dying in flight! |

A transient moment that must hinge upon a hook of light... to have both come, at once. I thought of the death of the young man/brother as he swam in the sea, from The Thorn Birds But all I can share for the moment, is this... ![]() Excellent work, Bruce. You awoke my imagination... Excellent title, too! " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love ~*~ KRJ |

From the ground, the aerial acrobatic mating and death spirals appear nearly identical.... |

Dante said in the middle year of his life, he was lost in the forest and threatened by three animals representing pride, desire and fear. Virgil (the embodiment of poetry) appeared, leading him through hell -- the place where those attached to their desires and fears can not pass on to eternity. Dante said he was carried to eternity by Virgil. Among the Pima Indians, a story mirroring Dante’s was told, and one can not help but wonder in how many cultures such a story exists. Art has the power to do for us what nothing else can do, DreamPoet. And you practice your art so well, so very well. |

Oh, Bruce, this was magNIFicent! I am glad it was "like" and ecstatic eagle dying in flight and there wasn't really one! I loved the replies as well, especially Kacy's and ArtSolstice's - and on re-reading, everyone else's too. - Owl |
