Art Show at the Grange Hall His favorite song is “I am the Walrus” It’s a goo-goo-ga-joob thing and its custard dripping from that same old dead dog’s eye. He talks of urine pooling beneath her as she dreams unaware, one leg twitching out of control. It’s her final curtain call. And her eye make-up is exquisite (as always). It’s not like this thought is going any place. It’s not intended to be an expectation raising event; it is simply a string of syllables Da n ci n g to the screechy sound of “Go Tell Aunt Rhody” on a beginners violin. Her intensity emanates, while working those strings with grim determination Garish pictures hang on the walls, original oils poorly framed. Faces smile, cheese gripped in working man’s hands Nodding, nodding with knowledge - bauble head dancing - and understanding the message. But no one buys They listen to the music and dance around the truth on a Friday night at the Grange Hall. Alison [This message has been edited by aziza (08-05-2007 12:09 AM).] |
