un, deux, trois i begin to count my fingers to make sure they're all still there and they are for some reason that surprises me blinking twitching i stand up, vision darkening with every step i break my fall blinking twitching seething and then i lay in front of the window fan that my mom told me not to turn on it's too hot it heats the house un, deux, trois.. i count the times the fan blades spin maman, 'l fait chaud i thought i heard my sister complain of the heat clammy and miserable, i reach for my camera placed meticulously on the end table as not to re break the part i was forced to super glue after letting it tumble to the loathsome earth and snapped a picture of the fan le ventilateur, dans toute sa gloire it talks to me you know |
