Hills groan with the force of uplifting themselves up and away from the man in the street and look to the mountains with envious eyes; how did they know to rise before time? Already they’re there settled at ease in the air that always promises more and the clouds pay homage as if to a king while sky smiles down as if to a child. Mountains, oh, mountains, awesome and grand first in line for the summer sun, rain you pick the best moonbeams, your very own star, and own all the treasures hills hope to acquire. I feel for the hills stretching boundaries and more and know how a goal slides further away when the everyday stuff of the common man heavy like rocks on level ground. Hills groan within where the will lives; soon a mountain but don’t count the years! Helen / 2 August 2007 [This message has been edited by Honeybunch (08-02-2007 02:08 AM).] |

Helen... this reminded me of growing up in California... when the hills blend into night's darkness, fading away... and when the moon hides behind them, and the sun peeks over... and now I live in the flatlands... where the moonlight greets the dawn. It is... a mystery... which always brings a smile. |

Brilliant analogies, Honeybunch! Oh, to be a hill! Absolutely love this! It's been nice to leave the forest for an uplifting hillside view. Gorgeous writing! miscellanea |

Thank you all so much for reading and for commenting. Very much appreciated. Be it flatlands or forest, hills, mountains, dales, love brings them within and lays claim to their souls. ![]() |

Helen, this is an amazing poem!!! I couldn't pick a favorite verse this time because they're all equally wonderful. I agree with my sis Misc's comments entirely! ![]() |

Hi and thanks, Jo - Growing up can be a long process and sometimes it just cannot be hurried. Sigh! Good to see you here. Take care. ![]() Helen |

Thanks M - Maybe it's time for the earth to reclaim its energy (soul) and start again but mankind will always be around to mess it up again and again. |
