But, it just never seemed to be enough Instead, he always turned to the booze Now, it seems, my heart has turned too tough Oh how it hurt my heart to be pushed away He had promised to never ever hurt me I held on for as long as I could with him At the end, I had to set myself free There was nothing more I could do Oh how I hated that horrible booze It took his love away from me, and There was absolutely nothing I could do The memories come back, from time to time Of that first year, when things were good Then, the booze took him away from me Even though I did all that I could Emotions, I had once thought were real No longer seemed to even be there My heart was truly broken clear in two It seemed he no longer even cared My heart it seemed just shut the door Unable to even let anyone else near To feel those emotions I once felt Seems to be my greatest fear By Sue Graves 1-17-08 |

I'l just like to tell u that even though you were hurt in the past,it shouldn't make you shut your heart to every one else. There's still love in the world, there are still people willing to give, people strong enough to not self destruct and destroy their loved ones in the process and I pray that you get all the love you deserve some day.. |

It's so sad, but I agree with rugged miss that you should not close your heart for fear of going through such trials again. Dear Sue, I am coming back to this one, for I have just read an interesting article in a German review for women, where they touch this issue and I thought of your fear. The longing for love while you are single is still better than the suffering in a painful relationship. It takes courage to decide to split and it takes again courage to begin a new story, but it is worth trying to put aside fear. Thanks to your experience you will also be better equipped to recognize the nature/qualities, honesty of a new man at your side. Wishing you well! love Margherita |
