Anxiously I wait Listening closely for the sound Of Beethoven's Ninth To drown out the silence Instead of this rhythmic beating The incessant sound of the clock Ticking away the seconds Turning minutes into hours And still I wait Wishing to hear your voice Feel it washing over me To have your laughter fill my ears Seeing your smile through your words Closing the distance between us Chasing away my sadness The loneliness that I feel So here I will sit by the phone Continuing to wait. |

and still...I wait. It's amazing how slow time goes when we request the unattainable... Enjoyed this. Thank you. |

Nice writing...there is a reason why the other has you wait and a reason why you wait...hope the reasons are the ones that will bring you back together... My girlfriend is always back and forth to Chicago and my waiting is more like accepting now...a long distance relationship where you see someone less than you don't see them requires lots of patience and acceptance...James |

effective 'realism'! [what I also term a "slice of everyperson's-life dejavu" write... likely many/most of us have experienced a similar situation and feelings; etc.! (a rather 'universal' expression of the human condition)] Applause!! |
