I occupy this moment of time On this small piece of reality Counting white petals on blooming daisies Under purple clouds concealing thunder With purity stubbornly washing auburn tears From the eyes of a sinful heart Just to blur thoughts of peace and salvation Within the creases of a prophet's journal Dust covered skin-like golden parchment Invisible to the touch of happiness; But still I reminisce the scent of love An aphrodisiac to the soul of man During those other mistakes of weakness When words reach as dreams Eroding like rocks at the basin of old river beds Until all that is left Is the scattered fragrance of apologies and unforgiveness……. Frustrating, isn't it? Love twists and turns us in many directions. |
