{From my Journals of Endless Winter;
Mixtures of Thought Different Pages}

~~**~~
The river has disappeared
beyond the bend

my paint brush    was
wet with anticipation

but how do I paint
the taste of rain and orchids  (or)
the bold of your back
          in-fingertip softness[/i}?

I [i]speckle the paper
with co
lor

one then another

start with the   sunrise,

orange against blue

start with sunset,

purple against gold

~ ~
In my memories we are always October's hues
a cathedral in the ruined city,        the perfect sky
of arch and ash

light lost in the horizon

I am alone with this
silent water

I am still & all-stillness

pressed against   stone;        all grey
stretched over river

the skin, the drop of water
near the edge

it is still daytime:

and I search for lines in dead grass

a path to you until I can hold

the sky in my hands

grand title:  “Journals of Endless Winter ”

[sounds though, rather like a summation
of my ‘life’]

I have always dearly wanted to keep
a journal (or ‘commonplace’ book as
T. Jefferson called it)…but, unfortunately,
have never quite managed to do so…
I admire those who have!

fine imagery splashed in bright-delicious
‘word-paint’!

I am particularly fond of:

“In my memories we are always October's hues
a cathedral in the ruined city…the perfect sky
of arch and ash;

”light lost in the horizon”;

“I am still & all-stillness
pressed against   stone”;

AND:

“I search for lines in dead grass
a path to you until I can hold
the sky in my hands”

This is the kind of imagery which servers
as a profound ‘inspiration’ to other writers!
[both prosaic and poetic]

serious applause!!

Lauren,

This gave me the chills (the good kind)...your poetry is as vivid and gorgeous as ever. Still wishing I could write half as good as you...still admiring from afar.

Take care.

Beautiful Lauren, and by the the way, "Happy Birthday Gal!"  I ditto your sentiments, no time to write, but I do appreciate reading.

Lauren, what a pleasure and privilege it is to wrap myselif in the beauty of another Greeneyes poem.  Thank you Maureen, for bumping it up to the top.

I also have little time, but revel in my moments here.

Lauren, in all honesty, whenever I read a new poem of yours, I say to myself, "This is my favourite" of your writes! Well, here I go saying it again!

This is now being added to my trove of "my favourites" of your writes!

You make us wait far too long, for my liking, for your next 'mistresspiece' ~ but then, the wait has always been worth it!!!

"The river has disappeared
beyond the bend
my paint brush    was
wet with anticipation"

See what I mean!

Love to you, Dear Poetess!
