It seems like just yesterday that I saw your smile,
and was filled with happiness.

All the laughing, hugging,
and the promise of a great future.

But years have gone by and we are worlds apart,
left with memories of what could have been.

All the what if's,
the dreams.

Life went on and we both grew into different people,
and different lives.

Yet the memories of you still linger,
tucked away in my mind.

I tried to go back there once,
as did you.

And for a brief moment in time we were 10 again,
playing in the school yard.

Only to realize the next day that time had passed,
and our feelings were just memories.

No regrets and no tears,
just a beautiful memory of a time long gone.

Of a love once shared.......
