On Christmas Came To Light The glow of Christmas Churches Sparkle on the snow In my wandering way, I entered Sang along to songs I know Yet restlessly in spirit, my thirst Could not be quenched This holy place did not content Nor could my soul be drenched That whispering in harmony Persisted in its voice I watched my gathered brethren there Took in the lessen poised How could it be the likes of me That squirmed and shifted so More like a child, reconciled Inside the churches glow It took awhile to understand This unrelenting need That wouldn’t go along as planned Nor to the flock be freed Yet then again, I talk with Him Best on my daily path More closely to express within These thoughts in aftermath I could not pray in church that day Among the hymns and spruce Regalia took my thoughts away Yet wouldn’t let words loose The best of me to give and get Came to the forest ears To God my heart in pure outlet Where He most closely hears Copyright kkh 12/26/07 |

So beautiful, I love your ponderings, dear TD! quote: I agree, during our conversations with God, silence and Nature are the best allies. Love, Margherita |

What a wonderful write, TD. I find solace in nature, not within buildings. |

This one is a beauty....Funny, we were in church Sunday, covering scripture about the Ark, Noah and a few select others...about an Apostle leading the way with words that only his faith could carry forth to another land where hostile and doubting people awaited him.... There was no snow...but there was faith....and He understood. |

Hi, TD. I, too, have always sought my solace from the sky and from nature. I am too bound up in most "religious" settings to really feel comfortable. As much as I love people, I love your idea more. Go outside to commune with your Higher Power! John I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |
