Silence. The woods are quietly sleeping, Caught in a frozen tableau. Through the trees the wind is sweeping Snow spun crystals like cobwebs grow. Winter storms enwrap Mother Nature in a heavy spell, Until Spring sings a song of joyous awakening. Then icicles release their frigid form to flow to a river’s swell, Towards the river the cool water is slowly snaking. Come Spring to free your true love So we, her subjects may all awake. Until then the dove will stay beside your beloved And the winter’s heavy silence it will not break. |
