In the light of dusk straight yet old he paused, beneath a shriven tree. A gnarled and knotted staff keeps his balance well. Eyes hidden below his hood do not look out to see yet within his gaze there’s searching in the fading light of day. The pause is short he is rarely still wandering in the gloom, concentrating all his senses needing to understand. With lamp aglow the falling veil of darkness keeps shifting in the step of this crusty bearded character searching for an honest man, perhaps himself. Withdrawn from the company of man no need of power nor wealth, he stands alone in solitude his lamp a beacon for seekers like himself, for where he is you may also be. |

This is amazing, Time Prophet. I absolutely love it. This is a very thoughtful and profound description of the Hermit. Ida |

Hey time prophet! laughing I was gonna get to this one! But The Hermit is my buddy too, and gotta love that beacon of light shining in the darkness to show us the way! I'm so thrilled in the interest in this challenge, but not as thrilled as the wonderfully wise responses I'm enjoying from you all. Thanks lovie, for picking a card! ![]() |

serenity blaze. Karen, As mentioned in a previous post, the brain doesn't normally function fast enough to rise to most challenges. As by the time that everything begins to fall into place the challenge is long gone. However I have known The Hermit a long time and that made it easier. |

Enjoyed the read, tp, and can relate somewhat to your interpretation. "concentrating all his senses needing to understand." And within whatever understanding is gained there still remains so much that is a mystery - just to keep a searcher searching no doubt. |

"Withdrawn from the company of man no need of power nor wealth, he stands alone in solitude his lamp a beacon for seekers like himself, for where he is you may also be." . . a few years back I wouldn't have understood this as I do today~~ wishing you and yours a wonderful and healthy holiday season, Frank M |

Honeybunch, Helen, if we do not search we do not find. It is the finding that changes everything. |

nakdthoughts, Maureen, it is sometimes disconcerting to find that others do understand, and one wishes that there was no need to. May you have a safe and happy Christmas. |
