I was like a caged animal.
Protected and secluded
Only ever seeing glimpses
Of the bigger picture.

Hidden from a world of cruelty
Of beauty, greed and love
Concealed from prying eyes
And sheltered from inquisitive souls

Forbidden from experiencing life
Uncomprehensive surroundings
Like a child, numb and naive
In an adult’s world.

Easily lost and always confused
Following the deluding tune
The world enacts
Luring unsuspecting souls

The world was sedated
Blurred at the edges
No definite lines
An unexplainable abstract

Hidden from sensitivity
From reaping the benefits
Of life itself
“For the greater good”.

An illustration of the living dead
A live still life masterpiece
An eternal game
Of hide and seek.

How was I meant to know
I was different
If I had never known
What normal was?

Living
In this godforsaken chair
Unknowingly
Watching life pass me by.

what is normal anyhow? I myself enjoy my time alone and don't have many friends. Nothing wrong with being a quiet type.
