sonnet 12_07 I know you less than once I thought I did And find therein the fear that we'll be rid One day of all the hopes and dreams we had And in that silence couldn't be as glad As days when came the verses and the lines We deemed more valuable than diamond mines How can I longer hold the thread of you As seams we sewed are stressed then rent in two The stitching fine across old tears we found Might well have kept us in a new world bound Except new clothing that appeared so fit Arrived across an ogre's unseen pit To lure you to a lair of shams and lies And trapped in it is where our future dies s.a.g. "I know you less than once I thought I did" ~ How many times, I too, have had such a thought. ~ "Let me count the ways"... Hi, Arthur! It is good to see you posting again! ~ and with a fine sonnet! Giving you a warm, welcome-back hug, Linda ![]() |
