Every time I take a step My shadow follows suit Stalking every moment Repeating everything I do Listening to every word I utter Silent are his echos This my only brother Secrets the only thing he knows Darkness shrouds the time When I know what was yours And what was mine How many times I have tried To rid the best of suns And always be denied Why is he forgiven And I am always blamed For the actions he’s taken Because he shares my name How is he protected And I’m always jailed Is he not selected When he walks my trail He remains unseen at night But walks behind me still Waiting for the first of light Be my shadow he might as well My shadow is the darkest beast Knows each and every thing Rewarded for his deeds And I am left to sit and think My ambitions are soiled All because my shadow Is there and always loyal You will stay on my path To hear my last sentence Before my untimely death |
