I am From

Between the black and the dawnlight,
when the stars are pale and small,
there’s a hush before the birdsong–
then the wind begins to rise.

Where the beach never reaches the ocean,
and the sand goes on forever;
coyotes yip in the distance
and hawks spiral up to the sun.

That’s where I’m from.

Calm, silence, soothing dull light of early morning and low tide.

Sounds lovely.

Thanks guys.  When I take the time to look around me and actually SEE the world, the world is worth taking the time to look at.

Beautiful, beautiful. It has been such fun reading everyone's challenge poems. Yours is definitely no exception.

I'm very lucky, guys.  I can stand outside any time I want to and look up into the sky.  Isn't that a marvelous privilege?

I can see it, feel it, hear it, smell the air.  Mmmmm.  Very nice.  I like when that happens.
