I am from the season of memories
where lilac scents filled the air
depending on when and where
the breeze was blowing on any given day
a place where the suns golden rays
shone down on apple blossoms
covered in dew
and when each new day
held journeys anew.

Orchards stretched out
for miles and miles
and days passed by
so full of smiles.

I traveled down roads where Autumn brought
the most beautiful scenes, then melded into
snow drifts untouched,
lovely and pristine;

the cycles of life circled round and round
until they brought me to this place that I've found

where the simplest of joys
bring me such peace,
where seasons of memories
are not released

but rather, are cherished
deep in the heart
because they are truly
an intricate part
of where I have been
and all the things I have seen.

Where I'm from will always be
held in spirit, inside of me.

Gentle Spirit

You are that gentle spirit of your name here.  I cherish the friendship I feel growing between us - and I miss you when you are (or I am) gone too long.

This is a beautiful testament of you.  Thank you for sharing.

Very nice GS,

all though not to long ago I returned to take a walk through those memories...
The memory I was to encounter was truly discouraging, for I found my beloved
maple's were gone and not only that, the tall poplars lining the way, gone.
They too had disappeared... At first I thought I was lost, but no... I was in the
right place. The only thing that had a nice note to it was: they had been
replaced for the accommodation of a care facility. Oh how I hate to see our
nature disappear. Since then, we moved to the mountains, unfortunately
I'm seeing it happen here also. A beautiful write... I should probably write
of what I remember of then... Thank you for the ride.

Donna you are a reflection of the beauty of your beginning.

~ and darlin', it shows. It truly shows.

Thank you for such a lovely write. You stirred my own memories of my Grandma's huge lilac tree. Smelled so sweet.

Orchards are also in my early memories. Dew & cider.

A~ I too, miss when we are not here
because life is momentarily taking us there
You are always and often in my thoughts
and bring a moment of pause, and smile.
For that, I thank you.

Lucky, it is sad that those things are now physically gone
but in reality they are held within you, so they will never
really be gone right?  LOL...I hope that just made sense..
Thank you for being among us again.

Lindalou, I am sitting here, thank you
and I'm sending hugs your way
to that they myight brighten your day
the way that you just brightened mine
with a reply, so very fine...
Thank you, dear!!

RDB, and simply put, thank you!!!  Hugs

Ida, you are so very kind in your replies
to me and I am truly blessed by that.
Thank you, so much.

Marti, thanks.

Tina, I grew up with a lilac tree right outside of my window and the house was always filled with the scent. It is my favorite still. Thank you so much for stopping in.

superb response to the 'poetic challenge!'

a grand-fine 'mix' of the personal and the
'universal! (wonderful imagery as well)'

serious, sustained applause for this 'write!'
