Hopeless romantic thou, appearing so to be Sheltered 'neath thy quiv'ring wings of words As daylight wrestles dawn in nectars drawn From myriads of odessies Hopeless romantic thou, appearing so to be With winged words in flights of fancy, free From chains of constraints That seek to limit thy liberty Hopeless romantic thou, appearing so to be Sing thy words to me Sing them softly; sing them gently Gilded bird in closed cage I wait O hopeless romantic For selfless sounds of thee |
