Two lovers meet, love is sweet, grow apart, broken heart. One deceives, the other grieves. Perhaps.... forever. She cares more, he's out the door... or vice-versa. Ceaseless games, different names. Endless stories. Some awful poems. And yet.... A very few, speak of love profound and true. Ida Werrett |

Gosh, that sounds like it in a nutshell! Same ole story that's been going on since the beginning of time! I love it when a love story has a happy ending ~ or a happy new beginning! ![]() Hugs to you, dear lady! Linda |

Thank You, Linda. I have read some beautiful love poems (but not many) There are so many that I just don't get. I think of myself as a romantic but not in a silly or destructive way. Ida |

Just so, dear Ida! When there is love pain, we are all rather vulnerable! When the heart cries out it seems often exaggerated to those who read and are not involved. The important thing is not to insist endlessly in crying over a lost love, but as we can see there are souls who never overcome such a loss and go on living a colorless life in the now, because they dwell in the past. That's too sad really! Besides that, where would poetry be without the songs of love and despair because of love? Just a little story: a young friend of mine was angry with one of her friends because she was so helplessly entangled in a love story which had no perspectives at all. She thought her friend was really silly not to react ... though she was always there for her friend she could not really find compassion in her heart. She thought she herself would never be in such a state .... SHE IS IN SUCH A STATE NOW and has opened her eyes to what goes on within a heart in love ... this said, I do hope no one falls into real despair because of love! Love and have a bright Sunday! Marchmadness, There are some who have not lost the way. They just rarely choose to say. Here is one I wrote a while back. Of true love there is no lack... I have never felt the love That others speak about. I do not understand the pain Some profess that love has brought. I never felt that type of love But, I have memories that speak, Of kindness and thoughtful ways Of rearing youngsters in those days, Of being busy with just living And keeping life together. Memories of sharing thoughts, Of tears shed, Over loss of babies never born. Our daughter, so bright and yet Found life just too hard to stay. The son who never lived Beyond one day. Tears of sadness and then of Happiness, Brought on by little things. And although I often think of all of it. I do not dwell upon the loss But share the memories of love. jo perry Aug 14 2006 |

I know where you're coming from, Late. I've been there. When I first joined the sight, I posted a poem called "True Love" that pretty much sums up what I think love is all about. It was similar to yours in a way. Thanks for your thoughts and your wisdom. Ida |

Thank you all for your comments. I find the different views of love (or shall we say relationships) fascinating. Ida |

Ida, yes I remember "True Love" as I had responded too it. It reminded me of my dad and the true love he had always shown toward my mother. I enjoyed reading that as well as this one. "late" |
