Red Roses I'm drowning in my tears in a world of falling apart, as warm tears fill my eyes sorrowful is my heart. Within this misery comes to me a desire to be set free, I cry out to my God "Please rescue me!" JamesLee 28November 2007 |

Well, dear James, with this title I did not expect such a sad sad poem! You know He soothes always our pain ... Red roses wither, but new buds open always! Love, Margherita ![]() |

Thank you Margherita for the nice response...I was wondering why I wrote this and why I titled it Red Roses and it came to me...a long time ago when I was trying to make up with my ex-wife, I told her on the phone that I would meet her at Knotts Berry Farm to have a serious talk with her, and I brought a dozen red roses for her...she never showed up and I gave them to a woman that was appreciating them...James |

I think women are always making you sad, James. Maybe when you're a little older you will discover that there are other wonderful things in the world just waiting to be discovered. Ida |

Thank you MegMeg and Marchmadness for the nice responses. Marchmadness, thanks for the observations... Women do not always make me sad, but they have made me sad. Perhaps my bad choices have brought me more sadness than I would like, and perhaps I write about my sadness more than some men, but according to the men I talk too they have been through sad times and happy times and sorrowful times and joyful times, much the same as me...James |

I don't understand the art of "standing someone up"...I just don't have what it takes to be that RUDE...! That said...... This is a wonderful poem...I've often cried out with "rescue me" myself! God is good, and he is there when we ask for him ![]() hugs, g "...Never regret anything that made you smile..." |

thank you hoot owl, dgvarner and Tom Mack for the concern and the nice responses... This was written mostly about left over regrets from my past...and I was trying to make up with my wife, who is now my ex-wife, and she would have no part of it...however, I brought the situation on myself by foolish choices and actions. God did rescue me, but he does it in his own way...My situation today has improved in many ways...James |

You got that right James; God has His own time and His own ways of turning things around...And He truly lets us feel every moment of life doesn't He--the good, the bad, & the ugly! God Bless ![]() g "...Never regret anything that made you smile..." |
