Still Crazy, I Dance Only my eyes might have witnessed in another’s wilderness survival this old women bent, struggling leaning, a dinosaur in her children’s eyes, but still a neck lifts, then meets another eye, when some substance of uplift… some strength that understands, lifts, nods, speaks; then nods, and speaks again; and that’s when roots talk, these fingerlings of history that grope, seek ground; but know this, that before long, one has to wonder, what came first? The legs, or the limbs, or perhaps, the sustenance from substance? I dance. I did. I am thus, I shall be thus, and then still crazy, I dance, and mayhap, be remembered as a woman who shouldered. ![]() © Karilea Rilling Jungel 7-24-07 " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love |

sissie...perhaps the stoop and twine to climb and see and then to be something else or somewhere safe where youth and age are one. I love this. ![]() |

Great write. I have to tell you. In a local assistant living home, where a close friend is staying, a lady of 100 years recently died. Well, she actually died in a hospital where she was taken after having fallen. They often have local musicians come to entertain and she was up dancing and having a good time when she fell. She was taken to a hospital and soon after died. Just as she had expressed her will to do. Boy oh Boy do I want to go like she did. A terrific lady who lived her way right to the end. thanks, latearrival |
