She falls. No one thought to tell her, How to stop. It's all she has ever known. On and on she decends. Deeper, deeper. Betrayal, One of the darkest sins. She will never trust again. Stabbed acutely in the back, Twisting, Deeper, deeper. Devouring her soul, The guilt plagues. Losing those she cares for, Self-inflicted torture. Blackness thrust though her heart, Deeper, deeper. Spinning out of control, She cries out. Slipping further, further away. No one hears her screams. Oh, how they pierce. Deeper, deeper. Fight it now, Dare to break the cycle. Doctors, remedies, pills, But nothing can help her. Hope dissipates. Deeper, deeper. What else can there be? Life's meaning lost, Pain now her only friend. Blood secretes, spills, stains, Temporary euphoria. Deeper, deeper. Giving in. Last gasp of harsh air. She can't be saved. At the end there is no light, Swallowed by darkness. Deeper, deeper. Fading away, she falls, Through her dark abyss. Confusion enfolds, Agony consumes, She is forever lost. Deeper, deeper. |

Many thanks for your comments. I wrote this piece during a very dark time in my life, so I just poured out all of my feelings onto the blank page. |
