Dove In the Sky
(Remembrance Day)

A dove in the sky
Flies over the war lands,
Where the soldiers who died
And are now in God’s hands.

We remember who fought
In the First World War,
Who now are a part
Of our nation’s true lore.

Families were sad
For the love they had lost,
For the soldiers who fought
And the lives that war cost.

The red poppies are planted
Between crosses in a row,
Where lie soldiers and friends
Who died a long time ago.

A dove in the sky
Flies over the war lands,
Where the soldiers who died
And are now in Gods hands

Thank you for this, as we enter the anniversary of the Marine Corp, and honor Veterans Day, side by side of one another.

Some people may throw stones at glass houses;
some may see only greener grass on another side; some may only have half-filled glasses...

me? I still think that the USA is one of the better places to hang my head in prayer.

Obviously a pleasant and timely 'write' and tribute
to those who assuredly deserve it most!

P.S. I am so VERY glad when someone chooses
to limit photo and graphic images to something
small, tactful, and in fine 'good taste!'

serious applause!!

Thank you for this, Artic Wind (I love your nom de plume).  Thank you for caring and for the beautiful imagery.  I especially enjoyed the repeat of the first stanza at the end, encapsulating the completeness and finality of the lives lost.
