The first thing I would confess is that
no the sadness in my eyes is not
that I have given up hope
it is that a piece of me
is missing.

For the longest time after his passing
I envisioned myself left behind and hopeless.
But I realize now
that the piece missing from my heart
has been transitioned and my hope
is not dead, it has only shifted to heaven with it.
There is no sadness I can give up
there is no joy to hang on to
I simply wait until the time
when my heart will be whole again.

And yes I know that you might look deeper
and say there is yet another sadness there
though I do not know how
you could see past the greater
to the long since resolved smaller.

Again I confess that no I do not have
nor have I ever
had a partner in this life who sees me
lovely and writes me
as the subject of his love song.
And I cannot say that from time to time
this does not pain me
but I have resolved that since my Heavenly Father
knows what is best, then an earthly love
must not be what I need.

For if on this earth I had someone
to think me wonderful, wouldn't I tend to
disregard my great need for an eternal Savior?
If my reflection was perfection
of what would I have the need to be set free?
So instead I was given
someone who loved me enough
to die for me, whose death made a way
for me to make it in the end
to where He waits for me...

With all sincerity, I must tell you that your words literally brought tears to my eyes. Your naked honesty and depth of emotion, were exceptionally moving. You have an especially beautiful soul and all will be well ~ in Divine time. ~ which is often one heckuvvalot slower than we Earthlings would like!

Loving you,
EA

Amen to that.
This piece is so tender, yet real and raw. I definitely get it. And yes, His hope and His face sure are sweet to behold. Beautiful.

I wish I could find this peace... instead, I fill His ears with rants on the unfairness of it all. *S*

However... He has blessed me with friends who see me with kindness... like you. *S* And for that, I am so grateful.

I am also grateful for your pen, dear friend... you write your life and make me rethink mine... and that's good. *S*

SweetLady~
You are a refreshing breath of the faith you live~
By sharing these thoughts with others
you give us reason to look into our own hearts
and give thanks to Him for all of our blessings~

that my words can help at all is a wonder, for they come from such a shambles of a mind, but I guess it is a tribute to my "Inspiration"...sigh..for without my faith...where would I be?
thank you ladies

This is nice in its sincerity..and I do believe that it is not good to hold to tightly onto those we care for...as relationship always have a beginning and an ending, but God did create men and women to populate this earth.   Perhaps I do not understand your intentions..but I do respect your choices...James
