to depth of the wicked
that irrigates soul
I become responsive...

illusive self awareness
communicates quietude of
the right side of the mind
intruding cement
it must sort out
the stalemate of
consciousness

what seams
to be’s
are they
herein
clearly the realm
published
bittersweet...

by a twilight of
almost todays
beaming their
grubby little faces

wraparound
tender jasmine
waves
a hurtful look on it’s face
often comes
most zealous
just to remind us
we're alive

spontaneous pilgrims
gathering the
whole of things
shaking our littered state
right out
of body and mind
into songs that still...
even though tears...
side with one another...

sanctified by
a karate chop
to the
whole of soul...
like
a twisted half circle

authentic drums
& brass horns
noise that hurts...
deliberately ramming
the robe
of life
spilling over
some aloof wintry
dead silence
shivering like
bobbing dead fish
in some half
frozen lake while
ice catches each wave

and there is where
the other side
of human life
intermingles
with dwarfed
white cotton
balmy cushions
of pale leaves
littering stories
of great stones &
white churches
burning love

and there...

in that
tragic
    heartbreaking
                 honey throated mumble
we are freed from
doubt and pain

...and
if we’re lucky...

we watch

that classic movie
orchestrated
by our own
stained glass window...

smiling

knowing, without knowing

the
kiss of life
that runs down our cheeks
pressing hard against
our glaring anger

easing the waves
of tension
           & challenges
making circles in our soul

applauding our choice...

this time

My son was married in 2005.
That's how I understood the spirit of this.

Lee, I sobbed my way through all of this beauty and wisdom.  I can't spend much time in Pip, for various horribly pressing reasons, but I ALWAYS read any of your poems that I find, but don't often comment as they are so deep and complex and I feel they need several readings and a long time to understand fully and put together a worthy response.

This one I just had to reply with this albeit unworthy and incomplete response.  I know you undertand why I had to.

You...are so--YOU.

you manage to capture moments in a streaming montage of imagery, and I confess at times, I don't "get" it all, but I do understand that what you do is not a linear intellectual exercize.

You FEEL--and you bring us all along for the ride. And I love it.

Thanks lovie!

(drop me a line some time, eh? It's been too long! )

Hi LeeJ......I wonder sometimes how you find the words to put together in so many different and beautiful ways.  I'm glad you do.
