The Pool of Bethesda

There is healing
they say
at the Pool of Bethesda,
when an angel comes and stirs
the water.
There is healing.
They say.

The only fall back is
you must be the first
to reach it.

And so say, you are blind,
for darkness has taken your sight,
and so say, you can't move,
for lameness has taken hold,
then when the water is stirred
you cannot see,
nor can you reach it in time.

What healing
is in
Bethesda then?

There is healing
they say
in Jesus name.
The only fall back is
you have to believe.

And so say, you are blind,
for darkness has taken your sight,
and so say, you cannot move,
for lameness has taken hold,
if you but believe,
there is healing.
In Jesus name.

I was lost in the darkness
unable and unwilling to reach out for help,
but Jesus You reached out for me,
You lifted me, when I could not lift myself.
Lord Jesus, I believe.

Thank you for the Pool of Bethesda
you stirred in me.
