I remember those sunsets that gave way to those long winter nights While I hurried home to the soft glow of twinkling fairy lights The smell of gravy would be wafting in the cold crisp air Back then I could enjoy such simple pleasures without a care When the holidays eventually swung by My spirits would quickly rise to their all year high Christmas was my favorite day of the whole year To me and my family it was awfully dear Sadly those days are gone which for me is very sad However as long as I retain happy memories it’s not too bad |
