              on his pond
              where his thoughts
              are awash in
              gleaming water’s
              ripples
                                bugs dance
              in circles
              on mirrored planes,
              it is there,
              I think of him,
              alone,
              knowing
              he is deeper
              than the water,
              still

in this quiet
when even
treetops
whisper
no intrusions
allowed
his soul seeking

anam cara
murmurs
eyes close
feel
anam cara
elation in
silence of
anam cara

then, slow
he breathes
me
in
out
               anam cara

and we are one

again

write with grace, all others lose face;
"Jo was very tall, thin, ... and reminded one of a colt..." LMA

anam cara is
not a destination
it is
a state of mind
a place of sharing
each other

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Dear Lady in White, I think you have offered us here a very intense, beautiful write. I love ponds, they really invite to ponder and to be one with all there is. I also love  the use of anam cara in this context as you reach the true deep connection of souls.
Love,
Margherita

Hello Lady...so nice to read you again.  I have to admit I had to look it up.  What a lovely definition and poem.

There you are! Sounds as though you've have been busy while you have been away from your pip home! Busy in love!

"then, slow
he breathes
me
in
out
               anam cara

and we are one

again"

~ those words measure high on my sigh meter!

Lovely to read you again, Dear Lady In White
