Cold...Snowing every day. 1954 in "the project" No work, no pay. Food scarce. Beans and soup, No extras. Religious group To the rescue. Gather children together For Sunday school In cold, empty room. Religious books, Broken crayons, Milk and cookies At the end. I'm nine. Religion is fine. Milk and cookies Are better. Endless talk, Hard to pretend. Can't wait. Hunger, thirst. It's after noon. Over soon? Waiting is the worst. Different view Of religion If milk and cookies Were first? Ida |

fine, powerfully emotive 'write'! There is often a cosmic dichotomy between 'organized religion' and (true) Christianity... they are often far from synonymous... I am particularly fond of: Religion is fine. Milk and cookies Are better.... Waiting is the worst. Different view Of religion If milk and cookies Were first." serious applause!! |

Either way, before or after the cookies, religion was just not priority. This was very vivid and I enjoyed it. Love, Margherita |

Hi Bruce. Thank You, I am not big on the "religions of man" but I believe deeply in the divine Spirit. Sometimes I am amazed at how well I remember my thoughts as a child. Ida |
