My hands look old, how could this be me? I walk through my house, translucent A ghost in a place maybe I shouldn’t be My eyes burn and I really don’t understand why I feel little except the empty of disillusion I see nothing save the cold breath of my own disheartened sigh It’s hard to imagine that I am essentially where I was before Different actors, familiar circumstance There is little connection other than the narcissistic core I fail to see the difference between the hurt and hurter Between the inflictor and the inflicted We all seem to be drowning in the same emotional murder Passing through each other in soulless commute Never touching, never seeing ourselves Weighted with disheveled thoughts, it’s a fatalistic pursuit "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

Dear Susan, it's hard to conjugate your beautiful happy smile with this intensely sad poem. It's good to have you here again and I wish you to be serene. As all of your offerings, this too is a great write, and very poignant too. Love and hugs. Margherita |

Hi Susan, This really struck a nerve with me. I could almost feel the pain within the words.....beautifully sad. x |

Hi, Susan! I was relieved to learn from one of your responses, that you are "fine". ~ because you certainly didn't sound fine in this poem! You must have dug deep to pull these emotions up and write so convincingly of them. Giving you a warm hug, Linda |
