Blacktop I saw the skid marks on the highway. The shards of broken glass. Now all that remains is the silouette, beneath a blanket on the grass. I imagine the Angels took her by the hand, down the tunnel to the light. So on this wind blown stretch of black top, someone's gone "Home" tonight. |

So sad, but rendered with sensitivity. They say it's good to go "Home", but this is not the natural way it should happen. Love, Margherita |

moon, I have been looking for another poetic offering of yours. It saddens me, that it was this tragic loss of life that was the source of your inspiration for this sensitive and compassionate write. You wrote this with sensitivity and reverence. ![]() EA |

Once again Moondogz another good read. Thank you. Question for you. Did you happen to know this person or did you see the remnants of the accident as you were driving by? |

Hey Seeker, thanks for the kind words..I came upon this accident on my way to work one evening..then the poem just presented itself. Almost like the person beneath the blanket was handing me their epitaph. Thanks JamesMichael. |

Tears and hugs. Thank you for caring so much for a stranger, just like the Good Samaritan. Beautiful poem. On behalf of the stranger too, thank you. - Owl |

"Almost like the person beneath the blanket was handing me their epitaph." From blanket covered bodies to shredded diaries, we find sometimes a story of loss without ever looking. |

"From blanket covered bodies to shredded diaries, we find sometimes a story of loss without ever looking." Yeah, maybe they find us 'cause their stories need to be told and they're not in a position to tell them...maybe. |

"Yeah, maybe they find us 'cause their stories need to be told and they're not in a position to tell them...maybe." I would like to think that is the reason. |
