In times like this I raise my eyes and heart high above Feeling the strength all around me Searching for the greatest love Devastating family news Delivers yet another crushing blow Holding tight to my faith Feeling that familiar warm glow In times like this I just stop questioning why For the reasons truly don't matter Give my soul the chance to cry For they say That tears cleanse the soul It is only when you allow yourself to feel That you find your way back to being whole In times like this I find the power that was always inside me Like the rain that comes pouring down I find the magic and mystery that allow me to be free "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away" |

A very wise introspection, dear Aimster. We do have the strength inside to cope with everything ... in times like these. Love, Margherita |

I try to understand the fact that as I grow older, the news of family and friends is not always as happy as it once was when younger. M |

"It is only when you allow yourself to feel That you find your way back to being whole" So very true, Amy. I would rather cry a thousand tears now, then let things bottle up. I learned that one the hard way over time. I like the way you captured this. Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |

I could feel your emotions as I read "Times Like This". And, I agree with Kit, you can't let your feelings get bottled up inside you. Poetry is a good way to let it all out. Good job. |
