The Things That Make Me Happy

What makes me happy , well I’m a happy sort of bloke,
I get on well with everyone & no disdain will I provoke,
Life is what you make it, yes it’s really up to you,
To enjoy the things that make you happy and happiness accrue.

Number one is my family, they fill my cup with joy,
Four lovely maidens fair & tall & a smart upstanding boy,
And presiding over all is my caring loving wife,
What more could one ask for to give me a happy life.

I have eleven grandkids that are very dear to me,
I count my blessings every day for such a wonderful family,
They are spread in places near and far but we keep in touch,
A phone call or an email, always means to me so much.

There’s also a great little dog that greats us every day
With a wagging tail & a bit of a lick, she keeps all blues away,
She always brings to both of us a real sense of delight
And any troubles showing up, soon pass right out of sight.

To me there are so many things that brighten up each day
And if the clouds should start to loom I push them far away,
For I know that up above the clouds the sun is shining bright
And I know that if I’m patient it will soon come into sight.

To stand out in the moonlight with stars twinkling over- head
Brings to me a sense of peace, with all worries prohibited,
To walk through the virgin bush-land and smell the scented air
And taste the early morning breeze that gently whispers there.

All the wonders seen in nature are a beauty to behold,
It gives me an awesome feeling to see all new life unfold,
The new lambs gamboling it the fields, little birds in their nest,
Brings to me a sense of pleasure in which we should all invest.

These are the things that make me happy but there’s many more,
To enjoy each day as it comes along & my good fortune not ignore,
I think that what really matters is what happens in the end,
To have the love and fellowship of all my very good friends.

Well these are some of the things that keep me happy all the while
And to enjoy every one of them I’ll certainly always strive,
Enjoy each day as it comes along & always wear a smile,
For fortune fair has smiled on me for I’m glad to be alive.

Well Lindsay, you are indeed a blessed and happy man. Enjoyed this writing very much today my friend, go on being happy and just enjoy each moment there is to have for they all are so precious and short. Take care Lindsay and catch up soon.

LP, the true measure of a man, is what he attracts. You attract love and friends.

To accomplish this, he has to be loving and a good friend to others, as well.

There is no doubt in my mind, that to know you is to love you.

~ and I feel that I know you a bit better after reading what makes you happy!

felt very humble and quite flattered when I

read your response, but I have always believed that as you sow, then that is how you'll reap. I have also found that if you are honest and friendly to people then they almost always reciprocate in the same manner. God bless you kind folks and I hope you all have a wonderful day.
