A mere glance, sweet caress Of flawless skin ‘pon my eye To hold one rooted, mesmerised But before one moment has gone by You’ve continued swiftly in your flight Takes me another to face the mess That her spell won’t let me go By now your chimes lost in a mob’s maze Your image fades to a leftover glow My posture twitches and sets the Chase Fear of losing, deep distress As muscles tense and I seek trace Of the glorious being now chained to my soul Her image indented through time and space When, suddenly, I burst unto my goal Now, sadly I confess That as our eyes met in close scrutiny, She Seemed charmed, as opposed to me Now that her face had set me free Of a far too perfect fantasy. |

Softly said...the spirit of the chase, that momentary attraction can sometimes distract from the substance interaction. We arrive, only to find our compass unreliable. I liked the introspection of this piece...tend to think outside the box myself... Paint the picture from what is truly at the heart, then attract the one who will attend to building the fantasy together. Enjoyed. |

Sadly, fantasies are just that...sometimes what we think we see in a person isn't what is really there. This is the type of write that each of us can truly relate to. Thanks for sharing. Take care, Amy "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away" |
